The Florida Program for Behavioral Health Improvements and Solutions proudly supports National Sleep Awareness Week, observed March 10-16, 2024.  This annual event encourages prioritizing sleep to improve overall health and mental well-being.

February 2024 Program Updates

  • We are very proud to announce our Program Director, Marie McPherson, has been elected to the Florida NAMI Board of Directors for a three-year term.
  • Our Program sponsored a booth and a speaker at the 2024 Florida Osteopathic Medical Association (FOMA) Live Convention.  Dr. Nicholas Abid presented “The Osteopathic Physician, Psychiatry, and a Holistic Approach to Care” during the Live Convention on February 17th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
  • As part of the Florida Pediatric Mental Health Collaborative, our Program attended a two day in-person learning session hosted by the National Institute for Children’s Health Quality (NICHQ).

FDA Approves OTC Naloxone Nasal Spray

On Wednesday, 03/29/23, the US Food and Drug Administration approved for the first time over-the-counter naloxone nasal spray.
